Atashkooh travertine with white theme and beautiful and deciplined waves is one of the most famous and qualified white travertines in Iran and the world. Atashkooh travertine is one of the best travertines in the world due to its good physical characteristics and bright color and good subsability, many of designers and builders use this stone in their building façade. Atashkooh travertine is often processed in 40 lengths or slabs in two ways: wave less (cross cut) and wavy (vein cut). In the process of producing and processing this stone, resins and qualified abrasives are used to enhance the quality and the strength of the stone. Atashkooh stone has different sorties and weak degrees of this stone are seen black and pink veins. Most engineers and builders of luxury buildings use Atashkooh stone for their main building façade.

Atashkooh mine is located on 3 km east of Nimvar Mahallat city in Markazi province. The mine was first discovered and put into operation by the late Ghanbar Rahimi, known as Arbab Ghanbar. This mine is one of the active travertine mines of Iran by extracting more than 500,000 tons annually. Atashkooh travertine quarle is extracted from several separate working breast, The most important of these are the Meteorite mine and the Kommiteh Emdad mine.
